BESE Summer Schools

BESE means “built environment – sustainability – education”. Under umbrella of these key-words we propose three parallel summer schools for students who are interested in sustainability in three aspects – urban planning, tourism and nature conservation.

BESE Summer Schools are dedicated for bachelor, masters and PhD students that study topics connected with space/landscape development.

Spatial Planning & Urban Studies – will focus mainly on the built environment of the city of Krakow – however, not only as a place whose historic part has been inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list, but also as a space for interesting processes and transformations taking place outside the city center.
APPLICATION

Tourism vs Nature Conservation in National Parks – will be focused on conflict between tourism and nature protection in five national parks (four mountain parks and one highland park)

The Diversity of the Region as an Impulse for Tourism Development – will be focused on presenting a huge diversity of Kraków region and its surrounding as enormous differentiated tourism product. The aim of this BESE module is to show the complexity, challenges, opportunities and threats regarding the development of tourism in the city and the region.
